Anastasia Greer is an interdisciplinary artist working in Portland, OR. Greer received her BFA with a concentration in printmaking in 2014 from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. In 2016 she received her Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, OR. Greer has shown work at the DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, MI, The Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, OR, Nationale in Portland, OR, and the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, WA, among others and has had her work featured in The New York Times. She has participated in residencies at Caldera Arts, Leland Ironworks, and Oaxaca, Mexico.
Greer's work exists at the intersection of traditional craft and contemporary art, as it utilizes textile, sculpture, and painting mediums to create compositions that become a visual vocabulary of patterns and forms. Painting becomes a game of matching and rearranging visual and material cues.
